In the Sun King’s Shadow

A village outside History’s narrative, yet not outside History itself

Villers-Hélon was never a seat of power, nor the stage for great events. No decisive battle, no palace, no name resounding enough to hold the chroniclers’ attention.

The village passed through the centuries unnoticed, faithful to a quiet continuity of tilled land, houses, a church, and lives lived without distinction.
